Portfolio

Selected work focused on beginner-friendly amigurumi design, pattern clarity, and character development.

Daniel Striped Tiger(spec) was the first pattern I wrote. I looked all over the internet for a pattern that faithfully represented the classic character I remembered from my childhood, only to discover I was going to have to write my own. That led to modifying it to make Henrietta Pussycat.

Hagrid was made adapting the Woobles Santa pattern with Harry Potter’s hair on top of Dumbledore’s hair.

Flipwitch was the 2025 Halloween pattern I released. It’s surprisingly beginner-friendly considering the flip doll design, with step-by-step how to videos included with the pattern.

Chill McFrosterson was the 2025 Holiday pattern. Three simple spheres, smooth color change techniques, and an easy project to teach BLO and FLO.

#WooblesDesignAlong dragon – here’s my submission for the Woobles DesignAlong from 2023. I tested my design out in easy peasy yarn to see how it looked as a finished piece.

Pip is a free pattern that showcases my ability to reproduce an existing 2D image (left) image a 3D amigurumi (right). More examples of these creatures available on request.

About the Designer

Denise George is a crochet artist, pattern designer, and the voice behind Electric Eye Crochet. She learned to crochet during the pandemic, starting with The Woobles, and quickly fell in love with the quiet problem-solving that makes a design work well.

As a professional voice artist, Denise brings those communication skills into her crochet work—creating instructional content that’s calm, approachable, and easy to follow. Her goal is simple: to design patterns that respect the maker’s time and make crochet feel satisfying rather than frustrating. Because good design should save you time—and your sanity.
